What is NARROW BAND UVB?

NBUVB comprises a small part of the sunlight spectrum which includes UVA, UVB, UVC, visible light and infrared light which is usually felt as heat.  UVC (200-280nm) are the shortest of the UV rays and usually do not penetrate the ozone layer to reach the skin.  UVB (280-320nm) are longer wavelengths that reach the skin surface and can result in burning and signs of aging.  UVA (320-400nm) are the longest wavelengths within the UV spectrum and penetrate deeply into the skin and can cause free radical damage and DNA damage as well as aging.

Narrow band UVB is a small subset of the UVB spectrum emitting only 311-313nm has been found to be safer, more effective with faster skin clearance and longer-lasting remission while minimizing the risk of burning and aging.
